Rural Virginia violin teacher with endurance riding dreams.
The journey to 100 miles
… began with a feral unhandled mare I took on as my first horse to colt start. I didn’t know what I was doing but I knew I wanted to learn how to create a relationship with a horse that was ours completely for better or worse. I wanted a better way than the struggle and force I saw in the horse human relationships around me. Ireland came home as a four-year old in July 2014. She became Ireland’s Khaleesi and the horse of my heart. Later joined by Wild Heart the mustang mare re-named Wyoming Peaches both horses have become my greatest teachers.
Success through connection
Body * Spirit * Mind
I love the sport of equine endurance and my goal with Khaleesi is to take a Non-Arab through a single day 100 mile ride completion. We have gone through many setbacks, however I believe taking the time to put the foundations in place will result in a healthy horse with a longer career in an intense sport. I am still looking for that better path, and I hope to share what I’ve learned along the way with others seeking a better path as well.
